I've never heard of this Filter before I went looking for a new filter on Amazon and came across this AirHog. It doesn't seem like any Stores Carry this filter anywhere!!! The one I got for my 2003 Silverado looks well made. Looks just like a K&N that I've installed many times and yet cost far more. This is why I'm wondering about the Quality of this Filter, I paid like $10 when a K&N would be $60+ They're both the same type of filters. Other then one is Orange and the other is Red. I can't really say how good this filter works. I don't have any way to really Test it. I can't find much on the Internet of this Filter so I can't really give it a Positive or Negative Review.

Amazon out did there self,Having such a high quality filter at this price. Cant buy a paper filter for this price. "Dont" think it will give you a 100 HP over any other, Or 50 extra mpg's Unless your old filter is 100% plugged. But it is a great filter and at wide open throttle it may help a couple of hp. But it is a great filter. and when it gets dirty. Just buy another one for this price. Can't buy a oil kit for the price of this filter. And if AMAZON still has this price your in. I bought (2) just in case of a price change. Long shelf life if keep damage free.

I purchased this filter for my 2008 Chevrolet Silverado Z71 4X4 5.3L V8 Crew Cab truck. I was hoping that it would get me at least one (1) MPG better than I was getting with the stock paper filter. Installation was a breeze, no problem whatsoever. The first thing I noticed after installing this filter was nothing at all. The vehicle drove exactly the same, the engine sounded the same, the truck accelerated exactly the same as it did with the stock paper filter from the factory. I started watching from the time I installed this filter at the Gas Mileage. I don't drive this vehicle aggressively at all. I am very easy on the gas and brakes. I drove it exactly the same as I have in the past, and I noticed that my gas mileage was actually getting worse with this filter installed. I continued to leave the filter in there for the next month, and after that month, I removed it and I put the original paper filter back in the vehicle. Over that month, with the FRAM Air Hog filter installed, my truck actually LOST two (2) MPG with this filter. When I reinstalled the stock paper filter from the factory, my Gas Mileage went back up to where it was before I started with this FRAM Air Hog filter replacement. Needless to say, this FRAM Air Hog filter is now sitting in my basement back in it's original box. Anyone want a used FRAM Air Hog filter for FREE?

I typically purchase K&N filters for my vehicles, but for the price I decided to try it out since it looked to be a comparable product. All I can say is wow! If you ask me the construction of the Air Hog is better than K&N. It has a very nice rubber surrounding that gives the filter stability. Also the gasket fits the air housing perfectly. Normally with K&N you need to add an additional rubber stick-on gasket. As far as improved gas mileage... not sure yet and this would not be a very good review since I also replaced spark plugs and wires at the same time.
